CTC Foundation’s Fly on the Run Trout Fishing Tournament Sets Records
The fundraising event for Lancaster County Career & Technology Center was held May 11 & 12
The 10th annual Fly on the Run trout fishing event hosted by the Lancaster County Career & Technology Foundation was a huge success! Festivities kicked off with a reception, dinner and auction on May 11 at the school’s Mt. Joy campus.
The entire menu was created, prepared and served by the talented CTC students of the Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry Arts and Event Planning & Tourism Management programs. The tournament itself was held May 12 at the Millport conservancy on the Lititz Run.
This unique fundraising event has yielded more than $450,000 in support of the students and programs since its inception and this year was a record-setter and the first-ever sellout. Proceeds support the Foundation’s student assistance and scholarship programs. Additionally, ten percent of net revenues will support the Foundation’s Endowment Fund.
This year the event drew more sponsors, more participants and more banquet attendees than ever. In all, close to 200 people attended the banquet and 26, 4-person teams joined in the fishing competition.
